FinnyShare

Your Jellyfin,
reachable from anywhere.

Expose your Jellyfin server to the internet without port forwarding, a static IP, or access to your router. It works behind CGNAT and on mobile broadband.

Free. No account, no sign-up, nothing to configure.

How it reaches you

your Jellyfinat home finnysharerelay any Jellyfin appanywhere

Nothing listens on your home connection. Both ends dial in to us, which is why there is no port to forward and no router page to find.

Install it

  1. In Jellyfin, open DashboardPluginsRepositories Scroll the sidebar down to Advanced if you cannot see Plugins.
  2. Press + and paste this URL
    https://finnyshare.space/plugin/manifest.json
  3. Still in Plugins, switch the filter to Available The page opens on Installed, so FinnyShare is not there until you switch. Pick it from the list and install.
  4. Restart Jellyfin from DashboardRestart Nothing prompts you to, and the plugin does not load until you do.
  5. Your address is waiting in the plugin settings Copy it, paste it into any Jellyfin app, and sign in exactly as you do at home.

What you get

https://gentle-crane-k7m2qx.j.finnyshare.space

A working HTTPS address, assigned the moment the plugin starts. The six random characters keep it from being found by anyone scanning for servers. You can pick your own name instead, or swap it for a fresh one, from the plugin settings.

While it is in beta

  • 10 Mbpsper server, shared by everyone watching it. Comfortable for one 1080p stream; 4K may not play well, depending on the file.
  • No viewer limitShare with as many people as you like. The cap is on bandwidth, never on people.
  • Your loginsstay Jellyfin's. FinnyShare carries bytes and cannot grant access to anything.
  • One relayin France, and no uptime promise yet. If we are down, your server is simply not reachable remotely.

The plugin is open source, so you can read exactly what runs on your machine before you trust it with a media server, including what the relay can and cannot see.
